About
Hey there,
Just a retail investor with a few short years of experience, since 2014. My aim is to create cashflow from assets that will exceed my expenses and be financially free.
Cashflow will come from:
1. Dividends from stocks and Reits
2. Trading of options
3. Selling of stocks for capital gains
Would prefer to hold stocks as long term investments if possible, unless the stock is very overpriced or the underlying business has structural issues. I had missed opportunities from selling too early just to get a quick capital gain, only for the stock to appreciate after some time.
(Stocks I have sold too early due to impatience: GLP, ARA, 800super, Micro-Mechanics)
As my holdings of stocks are for the long term, I would try to attend the annual general meetings of these stocks to learn more about the business, the management and gain insights from the questions of other shareholders.
I have shared my notes when attending AGMs with like-minded friends in the past. As a lot of information that had been useful to me was found on the internet, hopefully I am able to give back in a little way by posting my notes and thoughts online. Writing and posting on the public domain makes me do additional research and checking, as well as make my thoughts more coherent. This is a win/win for both reader and writer.
Hope this blog posts may be useful. I post on InvestingNote too, let me know your thoughts in the comments section of this blog or on InvestingNote.
